Are all aspies atheists -- or is it just me?

Silly question, but I was just wondering...

Far from all, but I suspect the ration is higher with us.
No, I can't back that up.

I just had the feeling that most aspies wouldn't really be too religious.. Dunno why..

I believe in God.

However I can accept evolution and the big bang happening and still believe in God. I'm not saying I believe they happened, I'm just saying I don't not believe they happened if that makes sense.

I don't know much about science, so I can't say for certain about them. I do know I have questions if they do exist. Genuine questions, not I'm phrasing my opinion as a question in order to convert people into believing in God.

You might want to set up a poll to get some numbers first, and then form a conclusion. Just keep in mind that the poll will reflect the data from only those WP members who take the poll, and may vary widely from the general population.

There are a few people here who are religious. I'm not.

I'm not an atheist... In fact, I converted to Judaism 1 year/ 10 months ago. From my own point of view, it all made sense to me; I've been quite happier ever since. However, I do go -and always have gone- by the "To each their own" philosophy.

I'm not religious, as such, but I am a Christian. However, my understanding of God and my faith is not very conventional, and there are quite a few NT Christians who disapprove of it!

Hmm. I am aspie, but Catholic also. I think you might have gotten that idea that all aspies are atheists because they use to believe in God or a god, but they feel their god let them down, so they stopped believing. I've contemplated dropping my faith in God a few times also, because of that.

I think it's more a case of Aspie's being ration and logical and wondering how that related to faith, something that can't always (if at all) be rationalised.

The thing is I don't have faith when it comes to God I just accept that he exists, he's in the same part of my mind that accept that I,not anyone else don't know everything, therefore anything and everything is possible.

I'm happily Catholic.

I know that many aspies here are religious. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the percentage of agnostics and atheists were higher among the aspies than among the general population because a big part of why people attend community functions, including religion, is networking, fitting in, and socializing. I could see how some aspies might have difficulty with seeing people show up for hidden reasons. One might consider it dishonest to express certainty without having a good explanation for why they believe any of this is really true.
