the sound of wind blowing

anyone else find this noise incredibly annoying? i become seriously irritated on windy days--if i'm outside it's the sound of the wind blowing past my ears that does it (let alone how it messes up my hair and pulls at my clothes ) ....if i'm inside then it's the sound of the wind in the eaves, or blowing past a draft in the window....is this just me? makes it very difficult for me to concentrate when i'm trying to work indoors and there is a constant sound of wind at the window (like today )

Ahaha, I was actually going to agree with you whole heartedly until I read the post. I actually like the "natural" sort of wind blowing. Over here during the "Santa Ana" winds, it can get pretty violent (like when it rattles windows), but it's strangely comforting to me.

The "wind" I hate is the stuff coming from fans, and air conditioners, or even the car window... Sound/feel of it...

I love the sound of wind, it muffles other noise.

The only time I don't like it is when it's violent, like tornado strength.

depends on if I'm inside or outside. Inside, it's actually a bit soothing...

I hate the kind of whispy gentle breezes but absolutely love huge thunder and lightening storms. I think the sound of wind in genral is kind of like white noise and to me it's the total stillness that is distracting.

It does bother me. But I think it's actually the weather that accompanies wind... often sharp pressure changes, between two air masses. Sometimes that makes me feel uneasy and very uncomfortable. Especially changes from low to high pressure.

Fall & Winter wind does bother me more than a warm Summer wind. Ominous...

I hate the feeling of wind. I kind of like the sound though... from a distance.

I haven't a clue why this is, but wind often makes me feel panicked. It doesn't always though. It may be the intensity of it's touch with a combination of the noise, or specific sounds generated in certain situations.. I don't know. I'm normally fine with fans, or being inside of car. It may also have to do with location and general paranoia. Wind muffles noises, so maybe I feel as if I can't hear my surroundings as well, and feel vulnerable.

I think sometimes people say "wind" when they mean a "breeze".

Wind can be bad, a breeze ruffling the leaves of a tree is nice.

I actually love it. When I'm outside and in the middle of a storm, it's a great (sensory) experience. When I'm inside, I like the background noise helping me concentrating and feeling comfortable.
