Sneezing and bright lights works for me too. In some cases though it works in reverse. I will get that annoying burning sensation in my sinuses saying that I need to sneeze. But it is stuck there, just burning. So I will have to go find a light source to stare into in order to trigger the sneeze. It doesn't have to be the sun, I can use an ordinary lamp and just get really close to it so that the light fills my field of vision. Then I sneeze about 5 times in a row and the burning sensation in my sinuses is gone.
Same! Except for me the sun works best.
The sun works best for me as well, however, sometimes I get the burning sensation in my sinus at night and it just isn't practical to run outside and wait until sunrise. So I have to improvise. So I can use my desk lamp, the lights around the mirror in the bathroom, or whatever. I just have to get it close enough to fill a good percentage of my vision.
For whatever reason, I have found that my right eye is more profoundly effected by the photaic-sneeze response. So I often find that having the light (or sun) shine primarily at my right eye from the right peripheral side seems to trigger the response the best.
