I can't believe it!!
I have a JOB!!

I've been unemployed for almost a year, and on Thursday, I updated my Monster.com profile, and did a little more blind applying, and BAM!!

I got a callback from a headhunter that represents a big energy monopoly here in Houston.
I went in today, and took 2 written tests, and 2 computer simulation tests and PASSED THEM ALL with flying colors.

So I'll stay on the AD's, keep the crazy under my hat, and my AS traits in check. For the interview, I forced eye contact, smiled warmly, and shook hands! It felt so odd!

I'm hoping it will all go well. I told the interviewer that when I'm in 'work mode' I tend to block out other things and put 'cubicle blinders' on, and stay singularly in focus. She said that was great, I then told her that I don't want to come off as a snob to anyone.

Cross your fingers and toes!!

YAY!! !

okay, how smart are you! That is a perfect explanation that can only work in your favour. They hear that as dedication and focus on task. Two things employers love in an employee. Good for you!

Congrats!! ! :D

Cool!! !

I may up my AD dosage for a while until I'm used to the job. But it seems like a good environment, so I'll just have to play it by ear.

congratulations!
I can feel your excitement surging through your words.
That is especially good that your interviewer seemed enthusiastic about your singularly-focused-cubicle-blinder-vision. Hopefully that means they will be an understanding employer.
good luck!

Oooh, I am totally stealing that line to add to my why-my-Aspie-quirks-are-good-for-your-company arsenal of job interview answers.

Awesome news, getting a job in this economy - good luck!! !

Sounds like the interview went well. From what you recalled, that sounded really professional, and definitely what an interviewer would like to hear.
