It's my Birthday next week, and my friend still doesn't know what to get me so I said that I did want a game (Dead Space if you want to know.)

Was this rude of me to tell her what I would like? She was stuck for ideas so I wasn't sure. I wouldn't have said anything if she did know what to get me.

If she asked you first, then it was not rude.

If you told her what to get you without being asked, then it was rude.

Either way, Happy Birthday!

That's not rude, people ask eachother what they want all the time. Saves someone buying a friend something they might not like.

It wouldn't necessarily be, but I suppose it really depends on how you told her.

Did she respond in a way that made you think it was rude?

She asked me earlier this week and I said I had no idea.
She didn't say it was rude though, and she has actually got me this game!

Doesn't seem like you were rude then.

Happy Birthday, for when it comes.

I don't think it's rude at all. If I asked someone what they wanted for their birthday I would definitely want them to reply, as long as the answer was feasible.

Happy birthday, by the way. It's my birthday next week too.

No, it wasn't rude. Most people do that when it's near birthdays. :)

And Happy Birthday! :D

You have missed point with gifts. Main point is that you should not know what gift you will get. Idiotic, I agree.

Probably, she was subtly telling you that she was not going to buy anything. I think she tried to avoid to be rude.

if she didn't want to get anything, I doubt she'd have brought it up.

Once you're adult, they just call it assertive instead of rude...;)

I agree that you were assertive, am glad you got your game and I wish you a very happy birthday!

I don't like suprises and she knows that.

I'm not going to take the subtle comment seriously from anyone on here tbh. If she didn't want to buy me anything she wouldn't have brought it up. She has experiences with people like me so she knows not to say things if she doesn't mean it.

I would be rather happy to have someone tell me what they wanted; but I would be quite sad if it was something I couldn't afford.

To be specific, I said
"Dead Space or Left 4 Dead for the Xbox 360 or anything to do with Zombies."
She just happened to pick Dead Space.
