Yeah. If she asks, then it isn't rude at all to say.

I have a friend who states what he wants all the time, even if it's far away from his Birthday/Christmas. Or he'll say: "I think we should get two christmas presents for each other. I want ___________." (after I already got him something). And yeah, that kind of thing does come off as rude. Just telling someone to buy you something should be avoided.
