Aspies and property
I just assume that if I lend someone something it will disappear or get broken, so I don't have to worry about it. I had a big problem at work this year. I returned from a vacation to find that my big bookshaelf, with all my books in it, had been thrown away. Later on, when she was covering for me when I was out sick, she "tidied up" all the stuff on my desk in a way that made sense to her but not me. It makes me feel really unsafe at work, like the space isn't mine.

Don't get me started.
The ultimate indignity --amongst the thousands of it ilk-- was when I was visiting Momz' house one summer day and checked on the electric guitar that I'd spent my entire senior year of high skool saving to buy with earnings from my crummy minimum-wage job (instead of buying six months' worth of liability insurance that would have entitled me to take Momz' desperate car out for a drive on the two days out of a typical month that it actually might have been, you know, available for my use).
So I pull the case out of the storage closet and open it up, and the guitar is...not there. Just gone.
I knew that my kid brother had to be responsible, so I loudly summoned him and demanded an immediate explanation. He'd lent it out --sans case-- to some buddy of his to play a gig, or so he claimed.
I could've murdered him on the spot. He knows that such is the sort of thing to send me into immediate and sustained hysterics, and he went ahead and did it anyway.
To this day it makes me livid. Just an utter inexplicable disregard for my well known sensibilities --and like an NT person would take any more kindly to such a thing?! GRRRRRRRR!! !
