Baby alligators are cute, but soon grow large and dangerous. A venomous snake might be easier to keep despite its venom.

Pet tarantula (with its venom intact) or pet polar bear?

I'll go with tarantula, only because it is the easier of the two to keep. Just don't expect me to be snuggling with it or anything.

soft with the exception of a no-hop beer or hard cider.

Salmon, especially on a bagel with cream cheese.

Cheesecake, unless the regular cake is a chocolate or chocolate ice cream cake, then I would go with those without question.
