John Wayne loathed, simply LOATHED an actress named Nancy Davis.

She was quite determined to sleep her way to the top, and was such a 'The Russians Are Coming!' type that he thought she was er, unstable.

She did marry a well-known actor, and will ever be known as Nancy Reagan, former First Lady.

Vicki Morgan was very pretty.

Pregnant at 16, married at 17, at 18 she met Alfred Bloomingdale, a 54-year-old famously-married multi-millionaire.

He enabled her to dump her husband, moved her in to a series of quite nice homes, apartments, and condos.

Her monthly support checks from him once reached $18,000.

Eighteen thousand dollars a month.

The relationship lasted for about 10 years, during which they each had other lovers, and she married twice.

His wife found out (or had known and finally got fed up and put her foot down), and told him to dump Vicki.

He did, for 6 months.

He went back to her, promised love, devotion, and financial security, they got back together.

He was diagnosed with terminal cancer, told her, and promised a specific financial bequest.

He died before changing his will.

Two months before he died, his wife halted the regular checks that were being sent to Vicki.

Vicki hired an attorney and sued Bloomingdale for Palimony, but the judge threw the case out, because he said Vicki was just a "young, well-paid mistress".

Vicki then threatened to write a tell-all book, which would have sold VERY well.....

Alfred Bloomingdale had some VERY odd favorite hobbies, you see, involving whips, handcuffs, melted candle wax.....etcetera.

Some of his best friends shared his interests, and did this sharing in the same room, at the same time, accompanied by 'ladies' who were most certainly not their wives.

Some of these good friends of Alfred's were members of President Ronald Reagan's Cabinet.

The book was never written.

Vicki was beaten to death by a baseball bat, supposedly by her roommate, Marvin Pancoast.

Marvin, whom she had met in rehab, and who lived with her because they were both broke, said she treated him like a 'little slave', and that he snapped.

She was cremated after her funeral, paid for by a benefactor who has never been known, and is in a columbarium at Forest Lawn.

There is no marker.

Alfred's widow is doing just fine; she is the famous Betsy Bloomingdale, rich, charming socialite, and very best friend of.......

Nancy Reagan.

That's another "Wow"! I always got the feeling Nancy was full of crap----now, I KNOW she is!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the set of 1982's The Thing, the whole cast and crew was male.
Very difficult how to phrase this, but...
Rock Hudson, supposed good friend of President and Mrs Reagan, was terribly ill in a French Hospital; he had gone to France hoping to be treated by a specific doctor who had been helping AIDS patients....
He had money, and he was desperate.
He was admitted to a hospital where this doctor did not practice, and he needed special permission to be admitted to the hospital where he could be treated by that doctor, the American Veterans Hospital.
He could not get permission.
He wrote a letter or telegram directly to the Reagans, asking them to intercede, explaining that he was gravely ill.
Nancy answered, refused, explaining that they could not do that sort of favor for a friend, that it would not be fair, blah, blah, blah, appearances, blah, blah, blah, have to treat everyone the same when you are president, you know, blah, blah, blah.
You can read both letters online; it just makes me sick, really......I only recently found out about this.
Anyway, he rented a jet, came home, died in a big Los Angeles hospital.
Elizabeth Taylor visited and sat with him every day, until the end.
Dame Elizabeth went on, after his death, to create AMFAR with two others; they were doctors, she put up the money.
And to think that Nancy Reagan got to go to Prince Charles and Princess Diana's wedding.....what a representative of the American people!
Sheesh!
On top of that, there are twelve primary characters to keep track of, a pretty big cast for any movie.
One female cast member did sneak into the movie: the voice of Kurt Russell's chess computer is Adrienne Barbeau.
Adrienne Barbeau was John Carpenter's wife at the time.
John Carpenter wrote, directed, and produced the film.
Oh, I know----that's was SOOOO messed-up. They said the Director took it, lightly----but, he didn't look jovial, to ME, when they showed him!! I thought it was terribly rude, and disrespectful----at least, he's here, LEGALLY!!
How 'bout:
Most boring speech (I HATE when they read it----the "from the heart" are SO much better!)
Most graceful fall (Jennifer Lawrence----LOL----poor kid!)
The worst dressed / worst hair can just always go to Helena Bonham Carter, whenever she's there. I saw her in a movie, recently, and almost fell off my couch, at how beautiful she was. Who would've known, with the way she appears, IRL?
The worst mispronounced name (John Travolta - LOL - WHAT was he thinking? ESPECIALLY since, I'm SURE, Idina's name was on the Tele-prompter.)
Worst Host / Best Host - The worst, IMO, is whomever co-hosted with Anne Hathaway; the best, probably, is either Billy Crystal, or Ellen Degeneres----I'm gonna go with Billy.....
Oh, what about.....
Best Wardrobe Malfunction ('course, it would be the WORST, to whomever it happened).
Correct me if I'm wrong....but I do believe that George C. Scott was the only Best Actor winner who refused to show up for the Oscars AND never took possession of the Oscar awarded to him.
