There is a trick. Just hit the bottle bottom with your elbow.

You were too young to be told.

I was certainly old enough. Grown adult, living on my own. Wanting a drink. :P

Handy. I am just glad that wine comes in screwtop bottles now. I remember nights being frustrated to tears because I was not strong enough to pull the cork out of the bottle.

Here in America, wine comes in a box, with a plastic bag inside, and a plastic screw spout on the side.

You can even drop it and not worry about broken glass.

Not that anyone has ever dropped a bottle of wine.

Kip, are you laughing at me just because I was weak and feeble? :P

Sylkat, yes, we get those boxes too. I quite like bottles though, it give you a natural stopping point when you finish.

when i was tiny, i was a very prolific glass breaker. i remember toppling an entire row of wine bottles at a market.

moomin, sometimes i have trouble opening corks too and i end up pulverizing them. or they slip.

I'm ok with bottles, but I'm terrible for dropping glasses. We have plastic glasses at home, and even plastic wine glasses.

eh, me too sometimes, and ceramics, we have a lot of ceramics. i broke my sister's favorite mug.

thankfully we don't often use the flimsy wine glasses, i'm a vigorous washer and i'd probably cut myself if i washed those.

not sure exactly what you two mean by boxed wine with a plastic bag?

Here, west of Russia, local liquor stores sell booze in glass bottles.

Kid. You are way too young to advertise beer brands.
