First thing that comes to mind when you think of Germany

My trip there, and what fun I had, and the couple of things I bought, there (and still have).

I vividly remember walking up the hill to Neuschwanstein Castle, and coming to a clearing in the trees, and looking-over and seeing the Alps----GORGEOUS----the first time, in-my-life, I truly understood the definition of the word, "awe".

Germany is my favorite country, of the countries I've visited----I have a huge picture of it (framed / glassed poster), as well as London (my favorite foreign city, of the cities I've visited), hanging in my house.

I think that's all synonymous with Bavaria :) There's Bavaria, and there's the rest of Germany :D

A lot of non-Bavarian Germans said the same thing to me when I lived there.

Except the Black Forest. Bavaria is southeast Germany. The Black Forest is in Baden-Wurtenburg in the southwest of Germany.

Club music. Milli Vanelli, Boney M.

The aforementioned Kraftwerk also influenced later dance music though they were exactly club music themselves.

The elderly couple that was bathing naked in a mountain stream next to a klettersteig in Alps... and generally relaxed attitude towards being naked.
A super-efficient girl selling highway vignettes at machine gun speed with all the guten tag, bitte and polite smile included.

Can't beleive I forgot some of my favorite dog breeds
Doberman,Weimaraner,and Daschunds.
And Herman Hesse.
Violins from Mittenwald.
The folks I bought my home from used to go to the Oktoberfest at Wiedekehr Village (winery)and play polka music wearing the traditional clothing. They gave us a tape of the accordion music called German Joy.
Not really feeling the polka music. :D

I think of extremely prompt trains.

I was told that even the London Tube isn't as prompt as the Berlin S-Bahn. And I found English trains, in general, to be quite prompt.

Things like Bratwurst, Schnitzel, etc.

A certain stoicism, but a certain openness, too.
