I don't get it. It's called "Neurotypical" but they are trying to create a movie about autism culture, which they apparently know nothing about?
They are just trying to join the trend I guess. Neuro-typical.

I agree...from what I read, it seems like it is going to be a really strange film. I just hope that whoever is directing it doesn't make the movies characters appear so stereotypical. EG; making a character act in the "stereotypical ASD way"...body rocking, non-verbal, screams etc. I think it would be good for them to address the issues of people on the more high-functioning side also, so that the general public will be more informed and less inclined to think of the stereotypes when they hear autism mentioned any time.

No market in making people look good, just another culture ripped, to keep the Coke flowing in California.

I helped contribute to 'Neurotypical' and i am a proud Aspie. I met the director and he was nice and very open-minded. I was introduced to him through my NT psychologist, who also introduced me to Autism Pride. I don't want to offend you, but i have to ask: did you actually see this movie or visit its web site?

Yeah... I want to see a movie where everyone is autistic and the main character is neurotypical. It would be fun to see the struggles that the neurotypical person would have to go through in an all-autistic world...
And, the autistic people in the movie would have to be actual autistic actors, NOT neurotypical people portraying autistic characters. The script for the movie would probably have to be a collaboration between neurotypicals and people on the spectrum. There isn't much description given on the website, and I don't know how the producer made the movie take course. But this would be a really original idea for a movie.

I was reminded of this movie today, when I saw a DVD at the autism centre that is aimed at autistic people and serves to inform them why they might feel so different from everyone else. There was a website mentioned at the back of the DVD, Normal Films, that made me laugh. :)
