Any 'accurate' aspie videos or documentaries?
Are there any well-made videos or documentaries out there that do a good job of explaining Asperger's syndrome to the average Joe? They seem very hard to find. Maybe rather than complain all day about inaccurate or bad media representation, we should do more of getting the good kind out there.
I have a DVD called On the Spectrum: Coping with Asperger's & Autism. I thought it was very well done. They talk to people on the spectrum, their parents, etc., as well as Temple Grandin. I saw it mentioned here on WP some time ago.
You can buy it here: http://www.onthespectrummovie.com/

I know what you mean. The aspies that are featured on the documentaries usually exhibit the more extreme symptoms. I only have mild AS in terms of sensory issues, but more extreme AS in terms of social problems. I never experienced a meltdown, but I do feel like my brain is screaming when I hear certain noises. Everyone's AS fingerprint is different. I found this YT video was the most accurate depiction of me:
