Mini DVD Reviews of the Best of RAW and SmackDown!
Since I got back to watching wrestling nearly a year ago, I found most of the wrestling to be now mostly watered down product from when I last watched wrestling. Now that we are digging up the past, here are the two mini reviews of both DVDs that I have seen last week with two WWF(E)'s flagship shows, Monday Night Raw and Smackdown!
THE BEST OF RAW: 15TH ANNIVERSARY 1993-2008--The three disc set has a timeline for each disc spanning from the early days of the show through it's present year of 2007. This DVD is very conistant on detailing all the memorable matches and moments from The 123 Kid beating out Razor Ramon, Austin vs. McMahon feuds, Bret screwed Bret segment, and Mick Mankind Foley beating the Rock for the WWF title for the very first time. For RAW and wrestling fans, this is a must buy to see a show transition from being a gimmick to being one of the best shows in cable TV.
SCORE: 9 out of 10
THE BEST OF SMACKDOWN: 10TH ANNIVERSARY 1999-2009--Instead of the retrospective like the Best of RAW, you get a Top 100 most memorable moments in the history of WWF(E)'s second show. The show named after one of the Rock's taglines has its share of memorable matches and moments including the infamous Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show match in 2003, TLC 3, Rock vs. HHH Official premiere of the show, and Stone Cold singing Coom-By-Ah (I wasn't joking). Not as good as the RAW DVD, but it's still worth your money if you are a wrestling buff.
SCORE: 8.5 out of 10
