as well as other symptoms does a lot of pychological and physical stress cause premature height loss even in your 20's?

Between age 16 and 24, I lost four inches of height. I went from 5'4" down to 5'0". It turned out that I had moderate-to-severe scoliosis and had no idea other than occasional back pain.

I went through lots of painful chiropractic treatment coupled with physical therapy and yoga and got 3 of those inches back.

Interestingly, as my spine was gradually straightened over the course of a year, my state of mind also became much better. I could think better and handle emotional stress much better.

I think the condition of our spines does impact our psychological health as well as our physical health.

I was a gymnast so that is likely what caused mine. Genetics are also a cause. Some kids get scoliosis from the time they are babies and have to wear back braces while they grow to keep it from getting worse.
