We just got a huge dump of snow here, and the closest mountain opens THIS WEEKEND.
I have never been more excited in my life except for maybe this time every other year I've been alive.
My board is waxed and edged, all of my softgoods are sitting in a neat little pile at the end of my bed.
Anyone else stoked?

I'm wanting to try out cross country skiing. I'm an ice skater so supposedly it's fairly easy to pick up if you skate a lot. I got 2 pairs of skis, but no boots. One side has normal Nordic normal bindings, but the other has oldstyle SNS, where I can only get ye olden boots for. I'll have to see wtf happens. It'd be a pretty neat activity, as I'm usually indoors in winter and end up being like "AH I HATE EVERYTHING" so it'd be nice to have something to do outside and burn some calories off.

Never snowboarded really, I had a board when I was a kid, but I never got to take it anywhere besides like, a small hill next to my house, that and I didn't have snowboard boots, either.

Cross country skiing is actually pretty fun. I used to do it a lot when I was younger before I got into downhill racing, and from there snowboarding. If you're a skater it should be pretty easy to pick up, a lot of the same muscles are used.
Best of luck!
