Burn Scars

So I've been burnt a few months ago and I have a very interesting (and by that I mean kind of funny) story as to how I got burnt. Anyway, it's been a few months and I now have these brown scars on my knee, which I feel really self conscious about. Lucky for me, it is still VERY cold out where I live so it's not too big of a deal right now, but I was wondering if anyone here knows any way to get rid of or hide burn scars.

It'll take a long time. In the mean time, get lots of sleep and make sure you're getting your vitamins and minerals and stuff. That's about it. Some scars heal, some don't. I had a burn scar that lasted about 2 years before it became unnoticeable. I have a cut scar that's still somewhat noticeable I've had for like 6 years? Have scars on my fingers from doing model kits in middle school and getting cut from an exacto knife. So comparatively speaking, burn scars will disappear faster than cuts, but besides time, yeah...

I have a huge burn scar on my shin from falling asleep while the space heater was on near my bed...I managed to sleep a full night while my leg slowly cooked O.o and woke up with a crazy blister. That was a few years ago and the scar is still very noticeable but definitely, slowly, disappearing. I tried the Mederma Scar Gel on Amazon and though I suspect it can be quite helpful for more superficial scars, it wasn't very effective for me. I think time is your best bet.

I agree with the other posts as for time being the best solution. I had a 2nd degree burn on my arm years ago and it took several years before it really disappeared. It still shows up a bit in summer when I tan, but it's not really that noticable. I'd suggest that you just let nature take its course and don't worry about it.

Make sure you're getting plenty of vit E in your diet, to repair the damage. So, up the nuts and seeds. A, C and B complex are also very helpful. Eat well and you'll heal faster. There's also a great gel, called 'Dermatix'. It's silicon and will help reduce the scarring.

I had a couple scars that faded noticeably with ScarAway silicon sheets. The trick is to wear the sheet at night for a couple months.
