Yes. I heard Second Annual Report a few years ago and was blown away.

I don't have any of their records. The only track that I've heard is one called "Hamburger Lady", and it's creepy and pretty good.

Yeah, I like them.

my current tastes are leading in this direction, actually. i've been listening to stuff lately that is either just as influential to noise as they were to industrial, or stuff that was influenced by them in one way or another.

whats a good release to start with for someone who likes noise and noise rock but isnt all that well versed in 'industial' music?

Anything they released that was labeled "annual report" (First, Second or Third) is great in my book.

Never got into them but I respect them for pioneering Industrial.

A lot of you RivetHeads seem to not like Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, and the more noisey experimental stuff.

I like Throbbing Gristle ("Six Six Sixties" is insane) and I love Cabaret Voltaire ("Nag Nag Nag" is a fantastic song). However, i'm not very partial to current industrial (i like Rammstein and NIN, but that's where it ends).

i mean to remember that is a quote from a cabaret voltaire song,
but can't find it, and well my memory with words is not always reliable ...

I love every song Throbbing Gristle has ever recorded, "Ten Pence" and "Hot on the Heels of Love" being my favourite pieces of theirs.
They are made of pure freakish dissonant win. <3
Have to admit I was pretty disappointed in most of the output from Genesis P. Orridge's later project Psychic TV, tho'.

Hell yes. I got hooked with "Subhuman" and "Discipline" about 10 years back, though there are bands inspired by TG that I like even more, esp. Genocide Organ and Thorofon.
