doesn't mean you're gay!

It's because I'm autistic! :D

Does anyone else here prefer the 'stigma' of being considered a 'ret*d' as opposed to gay? Properly masculine, NT men always treat gay men with evil contempt. But sometimes if they think you're just 'ret*d' they won't be so evil to you.

I call it bud bashing.
They're just making fun of you because that's what they're supposed to do.
It's like Fight Club, except with words.

I haven't been called either, just anti-social or different and I don't really mind that.

Better be gay. Some kids in school - the popular people - accept those who are openly gay, who are also cool and popular - but they really like to use the word "ret*d" unnecessarily. Worse still, it's the guys who do that. Usually I find the girls more intimidating.

I'm not gay but I never get offended when people call me gay because I know so many wonderful people that are. So thanks for the compliment.

When I was in school a lot of people called me gay & ret*d. I hated the stigma of both. I was beat up on elementary cuz they thought I was ret*d & there wer some incidents in the locker room in high-school cuz they thought I was gay; they wer afraid of change in front of me. People don't seem to think I'm ret*d nowadays but I do get called that jokingly by friends but it doesn't bother me sense I know their joking. I do thou have problems with people assuming I'm gay. Gay guys seem to come on to me & a couple people have wanted to hook me up with gay friends., I've also had crushes on women who thought I was gay. My mom occasionally makes comments about me possible being gay.

Never really cared for either . . . people assumed gay (but back in 1995-1999, AS was still being studied), and they couldnt call me ret*d (graduated 17th in my class). They couldnt tell what girls i was interested in, course it was none of their damn business . . . i guess it took a while for them to finally realize that i preferred books/homework to human company (and i chalked up any "attractions" i had to hormones and did everything in my power to not act on them . . . course, i didnt know what was expected of me anyway in a relationship, so i gave up on any form of interest. At least until college, and even then still didnt know what i needed to do, or what to expect of it).

I get the odd lesbian rumour because of my lack of interest in relationships.

It's stupid.

People in my school don't use either now, they use the words different and special as insults, and that just makes me laugh

No one ever called me gay, despite being gf-less until age 44. I guess its my pickiness with the company I keep.

And its only after I found my gf that my mum once said that she had 'wondered' about me. But never more than that.

...Only 44....
Does gf-less also extend to trying to obtain females, but failing OR just never felt the urge etc or avoidant etc?
