(sorry to chat off topic) I live in Melbourne, so we have a fairly reliable electricity supply now. Sometimes the kangaroos kick down the poles and we get outages, then I have to pull out the old pedal radio.

I used to have cable TV, but I disconnected it a few years ago when they started putting ads on it (one of the reasons I used to like it there was no ads). Do they put ads on cable TV in the States?

I think if you and I both start digging, we can meet in about 2032. Werbert has promised me a 3some with the machine if I can walk to the States, so I think this is the way.

I've read up to page 3 of this thread, and for those of you who judge women on how they look, or whether they are NT or not - are you sure you are capable of love in any way and are you worth it in the long run if this is all you think about? To the second part of my question, I would say none of you who think like this are worth it. I can't really answer the first part.

When I see "hillbilly" I think "redneck." A real hillbilly wouldn't know what a goth is. Goths are the product of trailor trash parents... trying to separate their identity from their shitty parents and home. And these types are fatter on average.

Really? I thought it was just dumb.

I still don't think what the original poster started this thread with was nearly as innane or as visually biggoted or as gender issued as the rest of the posts and whole discussion that followed (did he not say he was giving them chances but got sick of the results?) . Still, if it helped you all face your issues over this I guess I won't complain - just don't try and pin what this turned into back on him.

I think some of you girls take things a bit seriously. I find rubinesque figures attractive, but its not cool to say it.

IMO men (incl 47 yo me) are not much more mature than teenages like Vinzer (sorry Vinzer). I can say things behind WP's veil of annonymity as if I were talking with "the boys" having a few beers" - things I don't really mean. It doesn't mean I'm a mysogonist, just a boy in a middle aged body.

Who are you referring to? Clearly it is wrong to be mean to, or insult, or make fun of overweight people.

However, it is reasonable (and not shallow) to be unwilling to date a substantially overweight (or underweight) person.

I vaguely remember you once wrote a rant about how you hate it when women are underweight. I agree. But if you hate it when they are underweight, to be consistent you must also hate it when they are significantly overweight, because both are bad states. If you only hate underweight and think overweight is fine (or vice-versa), then you are being a bit of a hypocrite.

I think that a big problem with this thread is that no-one defined just what they meant by overweight.

Is overweight just a few pounds, or does it mean morbid obesity? Because I've got a feeling that the people who don't like fat girls are thinking the latter, and the people that are getting offended are the ones who can't understand why a few pounds over matters.

Would anyone here wanna date someone who's really jealous and is cramping your style by getting up in any girl's face who even says hi who knew you from highschool just because she's insecure? Women hate it and so do guys. He says 'overweight' in connection from prior experience with jealousy, DID give them a chance, and all of a sudden 'overweight' just dominates the whole thread.

I don't know, I guess I'm talking to the deaf right now because everyone's politically correct button got hit and that seems to short-circuit logic for most people.

What you are saying is shallow, as you are stereotyping "significantly" overweight girls. Surely you can give them a chance instead of just classifying them as all the same? Just because a girl does not conform to your physical standards does not mean that she is automatically insecure or jealous. It's attitudes like this towards overweight girls that cause insecurity in the first place.
