Do aspies attract each other?

So I went to see this movie "Failure to Launch" and I loved the character played by Zooey Deschanel, she rocks. She was very aspie-like, acted like she didn't care for society, always doing weird things and looking weird, she even says some things that made me think of asperger, "Everyone at work went to TGI Fridays, but I don't like that place... or everyone I work with" and "I know that because I'm a woman I'm supposed to be good at this emotional stuff, but I'm not".


Anyway, the point is that I tend to like girls with aspie traits, so do you think aspies attract each other??

I don't think so, because the only person with AS that I've ever met was not very nice to me.

That just happened that way, and that was months ago.

Alex you can't use one example to form a realistic opinion.

I've never really gotten along with aspies online and in real life.. there have been a few higher functiong aspie like people that I've felt really comfortable around and liked, So i'm guessing it's just different for everyone, and possibly has something to do with what end of the aspie scale you are.

Depends on the individual cases. I knew a girl at school who had HFA and while she seemed to have a crush on me I couldn't stand her.

since apies generally dont socialize much, i dont often see many aspies. When i do, it can be a harrowing experiance to see an all to similar reflection of yourself. Though dating someone with AS would be cool, be nice to talk to someone with a similar mentality.

I think some people have been a bit black and white about this, you've forgotten or may not have thought of some people are undiagnosed/have traits of Asperger's.

For example, I remember when my ex had a job testing games, watching all the
people from the company come out for lunch..ROFL

Well it's just imho. Think what you like..

Something else that people tend to forget, is that people with aspergers are also individual, and can have widely varying personalities. It's like saying 'do NTs attract?' There are thousands of successful NT pairings, but also thousands of NT relationships that don't work out. While aspies are more of a minority, and likely to have things in common, there are still personality factors involved which can't be quantified.

Having said that, I'm currently in a relationship with an aspie - we have different symptoms to differing degrees, but are both at about the same degree of functionality.
