Terrible love advice courtesy of facebook...
You wouldn't be an Aspie if you didn't have an obsession. Mine is computers. HI!! ! [eyes begin to lose synchronization...]

All that waffle and you're accusing her of 'an attempt to sound smarter'....
So, if 75% of the use of the dreaded word f-f-f-f-females is dehumanizing and 'less than enlightened' (and by the way, who tested that in the first place, and when? Just so I know the source from where that apparent statistic came from. And whoever might have carried out such a meaningless experiment seriously needs to find a more worthwhile thing to research) then what about the other 25%? That percentage of the use of the word (dare I say it?) 'females' must therefore be at least at a level of 'enlightenment' according to you.... So, in other words. What's wrong with saying, typing or mentioning that word, and why should that quarter of all uses of the word 'females' be prejudged to instantly be seen as negative?
I'm thinking you got a bit uptight there for no reason, didn't you.
Indeed. The idea of dehumanizing is a bit silly imo, it's assuming that humans are better than everything else so that must be emphasised constantly, PAH. I'd much rather be a bonobo anyway
This is typical wrongplanet, a silly thread is made for the sake of silly and then everyone goes geekshit.

Ok, I'm going against the grain here.
1. First of all there is nothing wrong with that advice. If the other person doesn't take initiative , especially a guy, then that is weak as actions speak louder than words.
2. Facebook has its pros and cons just like life in general. The solution to life is not hiding in your own bubble and writing misanthropic things on the internet. Neither is that the solution to facebook.

Frankly, most dating advice and the situational role models people use as a basis for their own relationships is complete backwards crap.
It's a vicious circle; Guy meets girl. Girl bases her relationship off of movies (sex is beautiful, and doesn't require cleanup, and mind-games are OK, even GOOD) Guy deals with it, because he likes her anyway/wants sex/other. Girl tells friends what a successful relationship she's in and how she did it. Other girls mimic and it becomes the norm.
Reality is much better. Being honest and blunt about wants and needs is really the only way to get anything done without major emotional turmoil from both parties
(Side note; I am female. I prefer terming others of the same gender as "female" when it fits my phrasing well enough, because the distinctions between "girl" and "woman" are confusing and if mis-read/used, can cause problems. "Female" is an acceptable term for referring to female humans, and is commonly understood as such. I have only once been offended by being called "female", but that was only because I was the only girl on the wrestling team, the coach was a sexist prick (very, on multiple occasions) and it would have been just as easy to use my name. If the word is a problem, what would you suggest one uses to describe those of the child-bearing gender? Skirts? Broads? Dames? This sounds a lot like the female representatives in Michigan being silenced (not killed, just disallowed to speak) for using the word "vagina" in a discussion about abortion. What other, more appropriate option is there?)
