And people wonder why they don't get replied to.

I rarely receive these kinds of messages. Definitely not the 2nd or 4th one. Sometimes I get cut & paste ones but usually I get well thought out ones. It might have something to do with the fact that my account is old-ish, but I'm sure even when I first joined I got mostly good messages (and a lot more of them!).

These arent on okcupid. Some awful nz dating site.

i found OKCupid could be pretty bad, as was plentyoffish. but there were usually a bunch of good messages in there too, so it was worth it. i could never escape a certain proportion of people who put in 0 effort. typically these were men nearly half my age, so maybe they assumed i would be desperate to offer some some cougar action.

It is a shame when people DON'T READ YOUR PROFILE before sending you a message. I had that problem when I was on Zoosk forever ago (before they started charging you to use it). Maybe you're right and they were just looking to seduce you, but I would think it would be because they thought you were attractive-looking at least, even though that's not the ideal thing to go by IMO (I'm still of the opinion that you should get to know a person's personality first, but I'm weird like that anyway. )

Actually that's the first tip i learned from Wolfheart's and Boo's topics here. And it's the main reason I get replies I bet. I sent another three messages to random people today to pass the time, and got three responses.

boo i think a better thread would be online convos/ actually met in person percentage.

You have a 40 percent response rate ONLINE but you have met girls from okcupid....

while ihave a 75 percent response rate ONLINE and have met 0 in person.

all u need is one

online dating is pointless without meeting people to ugh date

I reply to about 57% of messages. That makes sense. Many of the messages I get are creepy, or just a one word hi or hello.

Of the 5 who I didn't reply to:
3 didn't ask me anything in their initial message,
1 just didn't seem at all compatible with me,
1 I forgot to reply to.
