Am I getting ahead of myself or misreading?

So I have been talking to this guy for a couple months, and I mentioned something about coming out and he said "it's not like we're dating you can't have guy friends" so I met him for the first time a few days ago and I was very nervous but did quite well and we ate and went back to his place listened to music, talked, a lot, and cuddled for about an hour. I'm finding myself really liking him, more than friends, but... idk.

It sounds like you guys are doing well!

Is it the part where is said
"it's not like we're dating you can't have guy friends"
Are you married or dating someone else?

Did he mean it like you all went out as friends or..? Then usually friends don't cuddle for an hour, however since ya'll cuddled so long it sounds like it went well

I don't understand what "it's not like we're dating you can't have guy friends" means? Is there a word missing in there or something?

yeah well after he asked if my mom knows i'm dating a guy and then said he meant to say "does your mom knows you're dating guys" so he's just not that into me.

Sounds to me that you're getting mixed signals.......cuddling is something couples do.
