You really had to ask this question?

What is your logic, that looking at a screen dries out contacts?

Maybe the sterotype that glasses are geeky. I don't belive that sterotype thou. I wear glasses for school, when I worked or go to the movies & I'm a D0rK instead of a geek: I', not into anime, I'm not great with comouters despite spending alot of time on mine, played vid games alot as a kid but not so much anymore, s#ck with math & english class due to dyslexia, I'm not into or good with science except some syfy shows. I do think how fasinable the glasses are can sometimes be a sign of geekyness thou. Basisic glasses don't say much except that the person doesn't have 20/20 vision but if the glasses stand out like than Elton John's; I can form an opinion from the fasion.

I've observed anecdotally that geeky/nerdy (and yes I am one of those people who thinks about the difference between geeks and nerds) gals tend to wear glasses more often because women who are more obsessed with their appearance and popularity get contacts or laser correction instead. Also I think people who wear glasses are those more concerned with appearing intelligent/intellectual... my very-thick-glasses-wearing partner always jokes that he looks 20 IQ points smarter when he has them on

ETA: but I have 20/10 vision so I don't wear glasses, hence I can't be a proper nerd. My punkishness alienates me anyhow.

I only started wearing glasses 5 years ago. Tbh I have a hard time wearing them, maybe it's because I got them quite late in life and don't feel used to them. Also I think it's because I am so nerdy and have terrible social skills, combined with being very average looking, I feel my glasses will put men off further. Although the strange thing is I really like guys in glasses, it's nice to know that some guys actually prefer woman in glasses to not.

I don't think about it like that because not everyone who wears glasses can wear contacts or get surgery; I can't. My mom cant wear contacts either & she had lasic afew years ago so she no longer needs glasses for distance stuff like driving but she still has to use reading glasses. The geeks I was friends with in school had OK eyesight so they didn't wear glasses but the people I known who wore glasses were less geeky than me. I suddently feel old saying/posting this but maybe the trend is more so with the yonger generation because things like lasic are getting more popular, easier to afford & can fix more & safer than they were, yonger people(like teens) tend to care more about fasion than people my age. I feel old .

I have hear before that my glasses make me look smart or like a nerd.

Depends on the kind of guy you want. I've found geeky guys often like glasses on a lady.

Fun fact: The lens worn over my left eye is just clear because that eye is beyond help (legally blind) and a monocle would be impractical. Does this mean I'm half hipster? :P
