If you can enjoy being alone and enjoy your own hobbies and are happy in your own skin you can give that love to someone. If you aren't happy with who you are or how things are going you have to work hard to change them. I'm learning to love myself right now, I'm a great guy and really funny and kind. I never knew what's been making me so nervous and fearful of rejection or clingy and desperate for love. I didn't love myself enough or take pride in who I am. I did about 40/60 I think in loving myself over all. But now I'm going 100/100 I want love but I have to have something to give them too. I have to believe in myself and get a job and work on some hobbies. My social skills aren't perfect but I do have enough after a lot of practice that I can do the things I need to do. It's all about loving who you are that way someone else can too. Any tips anyone has would be appreciated and I'll give people here any tips I come across. It was never about finding a missing piece it was about building a whole heart to give.

I've gotten pretty good at that over the years.

EDIT: Oh, you meant self-esteem.

That too. I think it a lot of stuff comes with it. Like not being clingy and being able to give space and enjoy your own space and time alone. It means not letting peoples opinions of you decide how you feel about yourself or who you are. Being happy in your own skin.

I felt this Tumblr post was appropriate.
