I was out with friends last Saturday and there was a conversation amongst some of my male friends where they were talking about a guy exposing his 'johnson' at a party. There was this girl who was with us at the table who nearly threw up when hearing about the story and was like "eww gross". If there was a story about a girl exposing her breasts guys would droll and say "please tell me more"

So the question is why do a lot of women find male body parts gross yet guys and (and women as well) find female body parts a turn on?????

I guess you guys might reference the quote from Seinfeld in regards to this subject

Because they would view it as a rapey/pervert act.

So it's more important then for a woman not too be viewed as a pervert?

My aunt (who is married to my uncle) once said "the girls are prettier than the boys". That could be because women wear makeup and men don't.

It was simply very bad timing and occasion :D

Once a woman showed her private parts photos to my unsuspecting boss (basically saying "mmm could you have a look at this?") and trust me he wasn't happy about it at all and he was seriously grossed out. I bet he likes his wife's body though, so...
Many women really like looking at photos of naked men showing all their sexy parts.
Many men are seriously grossed out by photos of vaginas that are far from the "perfect" porn look.
There was a social experiment with a photo booth in one European country - basically it was collecting anonymous pics of passers-by (females) genitals. My male friend (heterosexual) almost vomited looking at the photos :D

So you can't generalize, really :)

Women are just plain more aesthetically pleasing. Boy parts are, well, grotesque. We are hairy creatures. We are not ordinarily the stuff of porn flicks. We are not the idealized smooth, slick, phallic structures of ancient times. Either you pee out of that thing or squirt baby juice which is messy for the girl on the receiving end. And, good grief, when you think about waste elimination through that thing, why WOULD a girl want one anywhere near her? Reproduction be darned, why?

While you take a young adult woman even with just a little bit of extra curves, a smooth-shaved camel toe--what's not to love? It doesn't take much for women, not REALLY. Men require too much effort to even make a difference, so it's best just to be gross. I know this. I have a bizarre bald pattern that makes me look like I have a greasy, crusty-old-man combover. And I can't convince anyone my hair just grows like that. What do I do? Once a month I get out the clippers, slap on a #2, and buzz it all clean. ANYTHING is an improvement. Either that or thousands on hair regrowth products that MIGHT work if I'm lucky. And I've been around long enough to know I'm never lucky.

Losing weight is tough, but I'm a 2-time master of the extended fast. I hate working out, but it had become a habit and part of my lifestyle.

You do your best.

Girls? Forget the makeup. Just take off your clothes and lay down right there... Because women of all shapes/sizes are beautiful. It's just the way it is. Accept it and move on.

agreed with randomfox.

i'll also add that boobs are not synchronous with genitals. however, it may still be considered in bad taste to expose them to involuntary populations. that's up for debate though.

Basically, male genitals are all-out and very visible so if you wanted an equivalent situation from woman's side, she'd have to detach her vulva, hold it in her hand and say "heeeey heeeeey... in your face!":D or lie on the table and suddenly spread her legs.
I bet many men seeing a hairy, sweaty vulva all-out in a public situation would go ewwww cover it up, gross!

Boobs and even buttocks are nowhere near that and can be inappropriate in public spaces, or just neutral, or actually very pleasing to the eye if the situation is right - like at a bodypainting festival.
I watched a documentary about a whole nudist village and folks were doing naked yoga :D it wasn't gross, just kinda funny, because I don't really see that every day :D Also, that was the right time and the right place for being totally naked unlike a tea party at aunt Jean's or an opera evening.

I don't know, even though I am heterosexual I would say both the male and female body can be quite aesthetically pleasing, if the body is lean and healthy.

I think the private parts of either gender aren't that great looking to be completely honest. I don't believe in god, but if god made the male and female bodies, it's like he ran out of time when he came to the reproductive parts...

sex and reproduction is biologically gross.
transferring fluids. sexually transmitted diseases. exchanging microbial/genetic information with other humans.
it's intimate as f**k and gross as f**k too.
gross isn't necessarily bad but it's very animal.
animal tends to be taboo in human cultures.

Well all the fuss that's made about women breastfeeding in public makes me think that there's a fair amount of people out there who regard women's bodies as gross.

Indeed it does, but we are animals after all.

Either that, or God has an epic sense of humor.

I like the way men's bodies look. I don't like the idea of sexual offenders though, and flashing your genitals is a sexual offense. Context matters. Your thread title contains a sexist generalization about women. You perceive that one woman you know is grossed out by the idea of a guy flashing his junk at a party, and you extrapolate that to "women are grossed out by the male body." One does not follow the other in logical progression.
