Opening My Mouth Around NTs
Opening my mouth around NTS gets me in trouble all the time. I dont mean troouble trouble, but problems. Today some guy said "did you hear about the new app on facebook, you can view if someone has view your page" and everyone said "thats weird" and I said "yea that is alittle weird because what if you click on someone's page 100 times a day they are gonna think something strange of you" and a girl goes "thats stalkerish, clicking on someones page a lot" and I said "no its not, it just means you are interested in something on their page" and everyonje starts sayong "thats stalkerish" and I go "Ok everyone does weird s**t, some people scratch their butts and smell their hands, but we are all people" and another girl goes "ok calm down! its not that serious" and a different girl goes "yea scratching your butt and smelling your hand is different" and the first girl goes "im not adding Soledad to my facebook hahahaha"
Well first of all I dont have a facebook. I deleted it so I could care less.
Sometimes I feel that when I say stuff it starts controversy. But I notice that I am always right. Im not wrong. why are people so stupid?
I used to do the same thing; speak my mind in such a matter and it would attract controversy; it's not necessarily because the other person is stupid or your 'always right' but because your applying rational thought to form of conversation that doesn't use it. Most socialization is just idle chit chat, the point is to interact with the other person to develop rappot, pass the time or talk about whatever; not apply intellectual analysis to it. I had the same issue until I started to stop analyzing every subject and just chat 'normally'.
Happens to me all the time.
Today I was in one of our gardens and my aunt goes "hey don't step on that flower!", I say, "I'm not going to step on it, im aware of were it is and I'm only right next to it. The leaves are touching me but that's it." and she says "god, why do you always have to argue with me!?" I say, "I'm not arguing" she says, "well then what do you call that?", me, "just stating facts" her, "why do you always do this?".
I really don't get people. Its not like I'm arguing my opinion, or going on about something subjective, I'm just stating what I know, and what they aren't aware of. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm not making a joke, I'm not secretly insinuating something, I'm doing nothing more than literally explaining myself, because doing anything else is unnatural for me. I'm always told that I'm argumentative, but I don't feel like I am.

Exactly! Sometimes I feel like I can't necessarily explain why I said something because they're not going to understand that I was merely stating facts that I knew, not that I necessarily believed the person or object in question was really like the fact...

Yes, yes, yes!
All she wanted back was something like, "Oh ok. I'll be careful." You gave an answer like I would have given, and the "excess" information probably came across as being snide or condescending.
My boyfriend tells me, "I only asked what time it was, not how to make the watch," when I get carried away with details. I can see why it drives him nuts when he asks something that only requires a yes/no answer. If he asks "Did you go to the store yet?" he doesn't really need to know every item I bought, which is what he's likely to get. But if he asks something like, "Do you think Alvin Greene is qualified to be a Senator," then just expects yes/no, it drives ME nuts, and he can't see why.

That's happened to me, a couple of times. I don't let it get to me. I take it with a grain of salt, and let people who say such things, go along their merry ways.

I think people can mistake elaboration with arguing. They keep stuff superficial. If she asked you not to step on the flower, you could say, "I'm not stepping on it." but move a little anyway.
Your aunt sounds like my dad that way- he'll accuse you of s*it in advance.
