My five year old HFA child asked me tonight, "when you love someone, does your red heart in your chest send out little pink ones?"
We were talking about emotions (and biology, since hearts factor into descriptions of so many emotions and my boy knows his anatomy - ha!), and evidently he took all of the Valentines Day cartoons very literally. You know the ones where the heart is beating extra big in the cartoons chest then the little baby hearts come out? Too cute!
I'm waiting for the "hearts in your eyes" question, since cartoons do that a lot too.

I was looking through the archives of this thread and saw that there was a story of a cat named "Pregnant." My cat was named "Puffy" because she was pregnant at the time we adopted her.
My son plays World of Goo, a physics computer game. He has astuffed polar bear we both love very much. He designed some "goo balls" for the game that were white and shaped like the bear's head with the bear's face and ears. He squeezed the bear's neck and said "Where I'm squeezing is the end of the gooball."

Twilightprincess,
My mother gave me a love of books that has lasted to this day. I feel sad that I never got to share that, and my love of animals, another thing I inherited from my mom, with children of my own. Those are two gifts I could have given someone else, but it never happened.
