Friday in fact :D

Hmmm.how do you start these things :? .....an eternal question for me.

Well ,i suppose i'd best start by saying -

Hello
My name is Andrew and I'm an alcoholic..
....
....
8O

Sorry...sorry,I thought i was on another forum for a moment there

Only Kidding

Let's start again then :D
Hi everybody,

After forty odd years in a bit of a wilderness ,i feel somewhat uplifted.
Do i feel different?,no of course not.
Am i different?,to be honest i dont think i could ever answer those kind of questions, but hopefully you guys and gals can supply me with some of them.
I have many questions.....many
where do i go from here,?my psychologist has suggested i contact the national autism society for matters relating to my welfare and income,i'll hopefully be able to talk to them over the coming months and get the ball rolling.
Any help ,that the UK members can offer, concerning welfare and who i contact in the Dss [im enemployed, but i dont believe that means unemployable]would be very much appreciated :D

I'll leave further questions i have for other sections of the forum.
Except for one-when im 42 will that be forty even? :?

Hi and welcome!

Quite a relief to find an explanation about your life, isn't it?

We're all pretty different, but there are some commonalities. I see you can use smileys :)! That's great! Some here can and some can't even see them.

Take care!

No matter how many years you go past forty, they'll still be pretty odd...

;)

Welcome! You're at the right place. I was diagnosed at 43. Wrong Planet and this wacky Web page helped me get through the bewilderment of diagnosis a lot better than Wikipededia or any other site:

http://www.geocities.com/autistry/YMBAAI.html

You may also want to get Dr. Tony Attwood's book, A Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome. This was the user manual my manufacturer decided not to include when I was delivered to my husband as a bride back in 1987. The latter never did quite figure out what he was supposed to do with me, and eventually I malfunctioned completely, and was returned.

You'll have fun here.

:lmao:

I just loved this comment from Alphabetania

"You may also want to get Dr. Tony Attwood's book, A Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome. I'm sure we could all do with one to help others (especially partners) know who we are. It is also quite helpful for us to find out more about ourselves.
