This angers me.

It is very difficult to stand up to police abuse because you would be reporting the failings of a system to the system itself. The people you call in to enforce against an out-of-line cop are that cops friends and co-workers.

That is why we have multiple levels of government. There should be a federal agency to report corrupt or misbehaved local cops to.

And there are ultimately the law courts in which to sue.

incase you don't feel like doing the math: bill gates hasn't been working for 40+ years and yet is worth 40bn. That ends up being an average of more than 1bn/year.

"Executives and other highly compensated employees now receive more than one-third of all pay in the U.S" but the article does not explain what they consider as "other highly paid employees" now does it. But the headline is "Executives Receive One-Third of All Pay in the U.S." So whatever cut-off number they set could skew the numbers one way or the other.

Yes, this kind of journalism does make me angry.

1 Billion is 1,000,000,000. 1,000,000,000 ≠ 1,000,000,000,000. A billion and a trillion are not even similar. They are separated by three orders of magnitude.
