What is Twitter, you savvy computer people?
You can also schedule tweets in advance (ie. Monday at 9AM) using Su.Pr so you can promote you or your clients' blog posts, etc. even if you aren't going to be around. Cotweet.com does that as well.
I think twitterfeed still provides a service where it will tweet the title and link to your newest blog posts when you make them (using your updated RSS feed to do it).

Actually you can use just about any url shortener on Twitter and they will all work.
As an example, the ones I use are:
bit.ly
su.pr
tinyurl.com

As far as getting nimped goes (for those who don't know, if a link shared on Twitter or anywhere else is a hostile one that causes a bunch of annoying popups to swirl around your screen you have been nimped),
It should also be stated that the nimping involves NSFW imagery. amputations, etc. If you want to know more, look up the "Pain Series" (also Pain Olympics from BMEvideo-but those aren't in the nimp programs AFAIK)
I always heard 'nimped' only used in reference to the Last Measure sites created by the Gay n****r Association of America-their urls bring nimp.org of some version (you can modify the url to accept other stuff instead to tailor the hit to whatever you want to hit-some versions I remember off the net were lolitias.on.nimp and niggers.on.nimp-these are examples).
In other cases/sites-I remember the term 'Browser Bomb' being applied to them. Then again other than the GNAA there aren't many people AFAIK making browser bombs made for this purpose.

found the freeware program Avast Antivirus to be very good for preventing such nuisances. I also use another program called Spybot and Ad-Aware. Both are free.
install noscript on firefox and block any nimp.org for the url. You still get gay porn and pictres of people amputating their arms/legs/penises/etc off....but it's not swirling and as numerous without that block-which for some computers can easily get the browser or the system to crach on 'slower' computers. Faster comps and people skilled could simply close all the opening windows quick enough.

Recently, Twitter has started banning links to sites like that, so hopefully such problems will lessen.
maybe. but then again people love making new domain names JUST to host this lol
