^ On the official YouTube Poop website the decription of the phenomenon is written like this:
What is a Youtube Poop?
The current working definition is a video that has been made with appropriated footage and collage editing techniques to for the purpose of either annoying or entertaining viewers in the increasingly indifferent world of Youtube.
There is no hard and fast definition of Youtube Poop, and the argument over what is or isn’t poop has been a source of drama in the community. Recently, a more tolerant view has become the “official” stance of YouChew Poop.
Are they funny?
Often yes, but usually they are weird and annoying, and it’s the poop maker he does the most laughing. In fact, the idea of making videos without purpose or meaning has largely been ignored by a large generation of poopers who instead prefer to re-edit familiar sources such as cd-i cutscenes (Zelda and Hotel Mario) replacing nouns and doing other sentence mixing. These cd-i remix videos are not listed in the directory and often frowned upon by those making poop on a regular basis.
Keep an eye out for text interviews in which various poopers share their insights into the many subtleties of poop making. These interviews are perhaps the best source of information regarding the opinions and methods of poopers. They are also the most serious aspect of this community site.
How do I make a Youtube Poop?
You needn’t have made any videos before, which is why poop making is so appealing. For many Youtube Poops are the first videos they’ve ever made. If you use windows then fire up Windows Movie Maker and have a look at what it can do.
Many poopers use higher-end software such as Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere, for their greater capacity for effects, but those using Windows Movie Maker are often regarded just as highly as those using more sophisticated software.
Where can I get my clips from?
Youtube itself is the best source finding clips but you may want to look elsewhere to find more unusual clips. You can use vixy.net, idesktop.com or mediaconverter.org/ to download clips but you may also need some software to convert the files into an editable format depending on you editing software.
I personally havent tried to do any yet but maybe I do in the future because I have so many random videos that makes no sense to put together...
