A couple of years ago, I used to play World of Warcraft. I stopped playing it for 2 reasons
1. I didn't feel like paying the money to play.
2. The amount of human contact required to succeed at high levels.
WoW players will understand immediately what is meant by "40-man-raids" and "80-man-raids". For those who don't know what I'm talking about: there are these really-difficult-to-kill monster thingys that you can face at high levels, that need many, many people to kill.
Working together with dozens of people would be difficult enough if the focus was only on killing what needed to be killed, but, from what I saw, there was a level of socialisation going on there too, which was just impossible to deal with.
If I wanted to, or was capable of, socialising with 40+ people at once (I probably wouldn't be on this forum).

So anyway, I made up my own game idea. The game is called "World of Stay The f**k Away From Me" (WOSTFAFM), and the aim of it is to never talk to anyone (you lose experience points for talking to people).

My brother and I made up the start of the gameplay scenario:

START: You are in your bedroom, reading a book. Your FIRST GOAL is to decide what to have for breakfast. The CHALLENGE here is that what you want to eat now is not what you decided last night that you were going to eat for breakfast today.

SECOND GOAL: The book that you were reading is your only book. You must acquire more. To do this, you must catch a train to the library. The CHALLENGE here is that the ticket machine is broken. You can either fix it yourself, board the train without a ticket, or speak to the station staff (thus losing experience points).

AT THE LIBRARY. You have no library card, so you cannot borrow books. You have 2 choices: get books out of the library without being caught, or acquire a library card. The CHALLENGE here is that there is a person sitting behind the card-issuing desk. Some possible options are to
1. Create a distraction, and use the computer to create a library card for yourself.
2. Kill the person (killing people isn't forbidden in this game) and use the computer to create a library card for yourself.
The next CHALLENGE at the library is that the self-checkout machines are broken. You must either repair one yourself, or talk to a librarian.
The final CHALLENGE in the library is that you have borrowed more books than you are able to carry. You must work out how to get them to the train station. (I suggested finding a trolley at the nearest supermarket; my brother suggested a catapault. We compromised with "catapault the trolley).

Throughout the game, there will be other, similar goals and challenges.

I played WoW right till my character reached the max level but then I got bored of it. It was my first MMORPG so when I first played it, the feeling of having such a vast world to move around in made me like it very much. That wears off after a while though. Then it gets a bit boring. You need to be good at the social aspect to keep playing; you can get to the max level without using groups but it's not a very exciting prospect. If you've played another MMO before you probably wouldn't have the feelings of amazement at the beginning, so I wouldn't reccommend it.

I want to play World of Stay the F** Away From Me now!!

The first person to found a guild gets perma-banned from the game, of course...

SilverPikmin, Azeroth is about to be torn the frak apart - might be interesting again then, eh? :)

1. order kindle online.

2. order books online

3. Japanese vending machines.

4. never leave the bedroom.

I have gone months without human contact. Any human contact. Though, that is somewhat rare.

I win

Edit: I think it was a little more than 90 days. over christmas and new years. So I double win. Avoiding people during the holidays is like a triple word score.
