Well, where do I start... I have had 3 rabbits so far. One died at a year and a half after being ill for the whole half a year, the second died aged 8 months. My third one, Jenifer, AKA the REAL Jellybean, has survived and is now 6 years old.

So recently, our house manager has agreed to let us have a new bunny. So I went to a pet store which is supposedly really good and found a REALLY cute netherland dwarf rabbit. It was so cute and affectionate and I named him Oliver... except three days later, I rang the shop and Oliver's owner had come for him... yeah, turns out he was a rescue bunny and had only been there for 5 days... So this time, I went in trying not to get emotionally attached to any bunnies... But alas, I saw a little ginger and white Dutch rabbit and fell in love, only now I have discovered (having been to visit him) that his whole litter has come down with bloat (where they eat too much and the gut gets compacted) which is in most cases fatal. They lost one of the four last night and the other three don't look so good, including the one I want... Sigh... I love rabbits but I always seem to fall in love with the wrong ones...

PS I haven't given up on the ginger one yet, but I have reserved another dwarf rabbit just in case...

Bad luck over here too. The damn cars kill them all before I get to shoot them. Blah.

*hugs* I've been lucky with my bunny so far, he's 4 or 5 and he's never had a health issue. I wish you all the best, you'll find a healthy bunny soon hopefully!

I'm being serious. It's the bad luck I have with bunnies. You have bad luck with getting pets, I have bad luck with hunting. They're killed by cars (I suppose it's a consolation that the falcons, foxes and eagles eat the remains), so they rarely often move through this property.

They're fair game where I live in the wild, and I wish to see what they taste like (plus, killing stuff is something I like doing).

Wether you were being serious or not, it's still not a very nice thing to say to a pet rabbit owner because I am deeply offended and upset by your comments. If you like hunting, fine, but I would rather not hear about it please.

Sorry to hear about your bunnies Jellybean :( Losing pets is horrible.

Ah, I got you.

I must say, bunnies are very cute critters, especially the domestic ones (they're so fluffy). The wild European bunnies are cute too.

I'm sure your luck will improve.
