My son has a simular problem with sleep, sleeping up to 12 hours a day, he was recently dx with hyper-mobility disorder , which means you are very bendy ect, it can effect certain areas of the body more,in my sons case he has weak hip muscles, which effect his co ordination , posture & walking, this became more of a problem when he reached his teens & started school. He becomes exhausted due to his awrkward movements & pain specialy in lower back area & legs & became overwelmed by school due to mental & physical fatigue which caused by this condition and now suffers social anxiety & refuses to go to school, ive been reconditioning of certain muscels through excersise is the best cure , but because of his mental health he hasnt been able to do this which has lead to him putting on wait & making his problems worse.

Night owl who works for herself and keeps a very irregular schedule. My bedtimes vary greatly from day to day (husband is the same way).

I apparently have Delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS). As it says in Wikipedia, DSPS causes a much later than normal timing of sleep onset and offset and a period of peak alertness in the middle of the night.
