Homemade cottage pie (a 3-layer casserole: bottom is mixed veg, cook's choice; middle is browned beef (ground or stir-fry cut) with onions and mushrooms and garlic and black pepper, in this case (lots of recipes use tomatoes here); top layer is mashed potatoes with garlic and cheddar. Cook the 3 layers separately, assemble them in a casserole dish, bake till it bubbles and the potatoes start to brown. Leftovers microwave really well. Been eating on it 3 days, just finished it up (yum).

Chicken noodle Cup a Soup.

I don't know technically whether this is eating or drinking, but I am using a spoon.

It's pretty nice. And low in calories!

^^ Prob'ly said this before: the four food groups are sugar, salt, fat, and alcohol, and both chocolate and caffeine are vitamins. Umm yumm, nom nom nom.

Speaking of salt and fat... I just finished one third of an unintended casserole. You have to like the stuff that goes in, but if you like them individually, this thing ROCKS.

I got a can of corned beef hash by mistake (it was in with the roast beef hash at the store). I don't care for it as such, but I do like corned beef and cabbage - soooooo - I cooked and quartered a dozen Brussels Sprouts, with a small onion. Stirred the entire can of hash into this. Sauteed the whole mess, with garlic and black pepper, til it was lightly browned. Stuffed it into a casserole dish with cheddar cheese on top. Warmed it til the cheese melted in and bubbled.

Hubba hubba holy moley. Perfect food for a rainy day with 40F temps (bone-chilling).

I had some Japanese pork dish yesterday which was the saltiest thing on this earth.
But they gave me free miso soup so I forgive them.

Oh, miso! I could drown in that stuff and never mind at all.

Cf. Raleigh's comment about koalas, on the "Random" thread:

Thank God, I'm not eating cecotropes, and never have.

Although it's very cute when bunnies do it. (If you love bunnies, and know about cecotropes, anyway.)
