Any miscarried women carry a doll after their loss?

I recently bought a baby doll for five bucks on Monday and I named her Jennifer. She is my replacement for the baby I lost. I keep her with me in my apartment. Did any other women do this too?

Caint say I've known anyone who has, but the idea seems sound.

And I'm sorry.

My husband and I got kittens about 3 mths later.

But then two weeks after the MC each of our cats died, all three, one every two weeks, all for different reasons (none of them lack of care!))

So I am not sure were the little kittens a desire to care for something baby-like or cat like...

I didn't do this but some other women I know have. It some other Cultures it's comon for a mother who has lost a bay to care for a wooden doll like the lost child or to have a doll made to honor the lost childs sprit. What ever makes you feel better is a good thing. I'm so sorry for you lost.

I've heard of women buying one of those Reborn dolls (cute lifelike doll babies...albeit uncanny valley doll babies)

I have heard of a charity that gives dolls to parents that have lost a baby so they have something in their arms on the way home from the hospital.

I'm not sure this is healthy.

because it's not dealing with the situation nor accepting it and moving on.

I think it's fine. Everyone morns in there own way.

I'm really sorry to hear you miscarried Spokanegirl . I don't think there's anything wrong with having a doll if it helps; it's not as if you've become deluded and think it's real.

I read in my textbook that couples who wait at least 4 months before conceiving after miscarriage cope better with their loss- though that's just a statistic and may not apply to your case. I hope you have plenty of support at home.

We didn't wait and did fine. Although we were earlier than you so uterus was ready pretty quickly...

I'm sorry for your loss, Spokane_Girl. I hope you can conceive again, when you are ready. I miscarried my first; it would have been a little boy, and I grieved hard. I don't know if a doll would have helped. It's an intriguing idea, though.

I didn't, and I was forced to have sex that day, "because it would make us closer".. bleh, out of that relationship now. If I had gone full term, the child would be 3 1/2. I do think about it every day, especially now I really want children. But in a way I'm glad it happened, because I couldn't forgive myself for bringing a child up in an abusive household.
