Stumbled upon this online:

Coping With Asperger's: A Survival Manual for Mark Zuckerberg

and watched a few videos where the writer seems to base his half-serious "diagnosis" upon.

It got me thinking. If I was an aspie computer programming wiz and wanted to meet friends and new people without having to actually meet them...well hell, I would just create a neat little program for myself that would address just that and see what happens. Also since I'm quite literal-minded, I'll call it "Facebook"

The world just gets more aspie the more I explore heh

Would an Aspie create anything social?

Some Aspies can have improved social skills as they start to grow up and learn from the world around them. AS varies from person to person. I don't know much about Mark, but I think this is interesting. Watch out Bill Gates.

Of course an Aspie would make something social! :)

I certainly would not be surprised. If he is, I have another Aspie to thank for my number one form of social therapy.

While I wouldn't know if he is an Aspie, he did a good job on the Simpsons last Sunday.

I cried when I realized what he meant.
I know how it feels, to want friends but not knowing how to get people not to walk away from you.

And Aspies are not Schizoids. Schizoids don't want sociakl interactions, Aspies are just aweful at it...

If you think about it - forums and sites like facebook reduce NTs ability to communicate in ways that are difficult for ASD. No "non-verbal" communication, for example.

there was another thread on this idea some time ago and i dismissed the idea immediately .. (without reading up on it or giving it any real thought, i'll admit)

i just have to wonder if someone with AS could so blatantly disregard his users' desire for privacy? every time there is a change to the site it tends to be something new that defaults to being visible to everyone on the internet. it's a full time job keeping things private on there. wouldn't someone with Asperger's understand people freaking out about this?

Agreed too!

(Even though I'm not an aspie (not for sure, not for sure not: my diagnosis suspected a communicational issue which I have for sure, and my neurologist suspects Asperger's), I don't get non-verbal communication.)
Oh, and congrats to him! :king:

If Facebook was a country,it would rank behind China and India in population.
China is Communist
India is Corrupt
Facebook is Curcumstantial to good and bad publicity.
