I'll elaborate on my previous post.
If it's some person with no teeth, no style, no nice personality, nothing nice about her, then yeah, I'd be annoyed.
When I managed a pub, I bought this long sleeved striped top. It was loud, to say the least. Pink, black, yellow, purple. I bought it because it was so different I didn't think anyone would want it. I had to wear a dark top over it just to be able to wear it myself!
I wore it to work one day. This 50 year old woman who is.. one might say.. a CRAZY b***h... comes running up to me and goes "OMG I HAVE THE SAME TOP THAT'S AMAZING I HAVE SUCH GOOD TASTE" - She doesn't. I never wore that top again. But she came in the next week wearing that top, and I hoped that she wouldn't say I had the same one, but of course, without prompting (such as "I like your top"), "Do you like my top? Emily has the same one. I know! It's amazing!" I think a little part of me died that day!
I went bra shopping about a month ago. I looked at this pretty floral one, thought about it, then went on browsing. As I wander off, the corner of my eye caught this 45+ year old woman looking at it. I'm 22. I didn't buy it.
Unfortunately I have the mind of a 30 year old. Unfortunately, I look like I'm under 18 (going by the number of times I get ID-ed). The two don't match when I look for clothes. If it's only a plain tank top or jeans that are matching, I don't mind. But when the pieces are noticeable.. that's a different matter. I hope I haven't offended anyone by this.. I'm just saying that a lamb shouldn't dress as mutton (oh crap if I didn't offend anyone before, I surely have now! Oh sod it just press the "Submit" button!)

I was never in that position...I was always wearing my green Canadian army jacket when I was in high school...I lost it..I have a tiger stripe one, but I miss the Canadian one I wore, which had a Canadian flag badge on the left sleeve.
I was the only girl who wore an army jacket in the whole school. ![]()

When I was growing up I always had a style all of my own so I've rarely had an issue! When everyone was wearing grunge I was out there with neon outfits. I didn't want to even try to fit in so I went with going out of my way to be an individual.
Now that I'm older I try to dress within the norm and I won't get upset if I see someone wearing something that I have but for some reason it is a bit uncomfortable if someone is wearing the same thing at the same time as me. It's funny that this topic is up because today I bought a halloween costume for this party some friends are hosting and the whole way home I was thinking of all the things that I could do to make the outfit original so that if someone else has the same one they won't look the same. ![]()
Never understood why women do this personally.
Tbh I think its a f*****g joke.
Someone else is wearing what you are. It dents your ego.
Get over it. Its completely shallow and stupid. It does not matter in life or the universe. It is a joke

Wearing a uniform kind of takes all that away. Scrubs come in a variety of colors, but they are still limited colors and limited stores carrying same, so there is every chance in the world at work that at least one other person is going to show up in the same color. One day we all showed up in pink, INCLUDING the doctor, LOL! If we see someone wearing the same color, its always the same joke "I see you got the memo [to wear that color]".
Otherwise, I think it has to do with how women actually see themselves, to tell the absolute truth - women dress for other women. We pick an outfit because it looks good on us, and it becomes our territory. It shows up on another body, we immediately start comparing ourselves to someone else - nothing to do with the outfit, everything to do with how we are raised as female, and how we are "supposed" to act. I like the way belly dancers think - or at least how I took it when I took the course anyway - that every body is beautiful, and that it was our job as women to support each other, instead of tear each other down. I think that should start with clothes, we can work up from there... ![]()

One reasons why this might happen. I know of this, because I felt it. I had bought an outfit, and gone to some special occasion; I forget now what it was. And I saw another woman wearing the same thing. We both noticed at the same time. We smiled brightly at each other, and said something like, "Oh, my goodness!" When we parted, I was relieved that I looked better than the other woman, who was on the chubby side. But I think if it had been the other way around, I would have felt uncomfortable, and felt as if everyone was comparing the two of us, the whole time we were there.

I don't understand why someone would get mad if they saw someone else in the same outfit they wear wearing as well.
It sounds like the person might be mad if they were lacking in confidence enough to think how dare someone else have the same idea as them. To even point out someone was wearing the same outfit in distaste would be to project negative attention unto another to attempt to take the attention away from oneself or to not make oneself look as bad.
If someone were comfortable with themself, i doubt they'd bother to point out another wearing the same outfit in distaste.
If a person were to copy someone else's outfit or style that is completely original, then i guess they could take it as a compliment for being a mini trend setter.
