I think I would look young for my age if I were shorter. With my height, I look exactly my age. I wonder what it will be like as I get older, though.
I've met two girls with AS who are very short and are the same age as me. Looking at them, I would have guessed that they are 15 or 16 years old. However, I've found that people with more severe autism tend to look older than they actually are.

People tell me that I look like I'm 33-34, all the time. :P

Two days ago, somebody asked me how old I was, and when I told them, they said they thought I was in my mid-late 20's. That's not usually the case though, normally it's the other way around. Hmm....maybe it depends on if I shaved recently,or not? I do tend to look pretty rough, after a week or so.

maybe it's because i'm so tall and can actually grow a beard & mustache and have a really deep voice. but then again casino security thought i'd looked 24 after i'd shaved. so idk

I wished that happened to me... plus im quite short for my age aswell... which is kind of put down for me

I really think that this is a 100% occurring part of the AS phenotype, but I wish that there was more research done as to why we look so young, and whether it's nature or nurture. What do you think?

I get told I look between the ages of 17-23 (I'm actually 27). I still get ID'd when I go out which I find amusing, but complementary. My boyfriend also gets ID'd, but less frequently than what I do and people tell he looks between 21-26 on average (he's actually 34). My dad thought he was younger than me when they first met and condemned me for pulling a 'college bum'! ! I set him straight rather quickly lol.

Fiz, I thought you was a young moderator  I thought you would of been like 21 or starting uni.... Unfortunelately, if that was me, I would get ID literally every shop I go to and that is so annoying.

I'm always mistaken for younger than I am.

I have had my ID rejected because my birthdate says I'm 33 and the person looking at my ID couldn't believe I was that old. Door workers at bars and clubs often look at my ID, look at me, look back at my ID and say, "No way!" People guess I'm 25 most of the time. In college, people always thought I was a freshman, even when I was a 23-year-old senior. (Took time off.)

After graduation, I began subsititute teaching a lot at a nearby elementary school. One day, a teacher there stopped me and asked how I managed to get "so much time off school." I said, "Oh, I graduated in May." She said, "That explains it! Are you going to college in September?" I said, "No, I mean I graduated from Smith College in May." She did a double-take, began to laugh, and told me the entire staff thought I was a high-school student who had finished all the high-school courses a little young. At 23, my co-workers thought I was 16 or 17.

I still get carded every so often, though there's no possible way I look that young. I always feel like they are teasing me!

Dang, dood. Sorry to hear about that, and you have my sympathy (even though you're now 33). I just turned 23 and people tell me I look 18 or 19. I wonder what makes someone look older, though. Is it the way their eyes look? Creases on their face? Body type/shape? Skin texture?

People mistaken me for someone that is younger than my little brother, who is 23. They think I'm 19 or 20 years old. I'm 28, lol.

I love being consistently guessed being 5-8y younger than I am.

I figure I've got to use this to my advantage while it lasts.

I don't think I would want to imagine myself my younger Brother looking older than me... 8O he's already nearly taller than me and he only 12 and I'm 18.... I definitely don't look like a 18... I would be so embarrassed to even admit that.

Yes. I get this all the time. I've always had this. It used to be good for things (I once got a full soda on an airplane, another time, a free cookie that would have cost 3.99) but i'm nottoo keen on it now. people tend to treat me like a child, and i'm not :(

According to a few random strangers I do look younger or maybe they're just terrible at gauging someone's age.
I was rather effeminate when I was younger though, that might be a factor for my apparently deceptive appearance.
