Scientists have managed to synthesize both RNA and the precursor chemicals for it. Ribonucleotides have now been assembled from simpler chemicals, and said ribonucleotides induced to form RNA.

It cuts right through the idea that life is too complex to form in the short time that the world has existed. It also shoots down the idea that complexity cannot be created.

What are they talking about 'primordial ooze' god created the planet and all that is on it in 6 days, then had a nap. What would science no about such a thing, primordial ooze

Given time and inquiry we discover and understand more and more of the natural world. But it would not matter if man developed single cell organisms (which given that we may be able to create RNA, is looking increasingly likely) the creationists will still sit stubbornly in the corner blowing raspberries at the rest of humanity.

Yes, and there's a much older thread that mentions it:

There is an almost indestructible emotional component to people who keep insisting that there has to be an outside intellect with a plan to explain the nature of the present universe. This is obviously an anthropomorphic viewpoint that cannot accept that natural forces and materials can perform the same operations that humans do in manipulating the potentials of matter and energy. Logic has little to do with it.
