It's happening here too. Frankly, I can't be arsed with the whole Easter Egg thing. Just get some decent dark chocolate instead.

A few months ago (October or so) I saw boiled coloured Easter eggs in our local supermarket; I found that really weird.

Regular as clockwork the Easter eggs and hot cross buns appear on the shelves from Jan 1.

The last couple of years I have observed a new trend. At Christmas they are pushing chocolate Santas and err... Christmas eggs.

Now they are trying to get us all to send "Easter cards" as well as Christmas cards.

What is next? Thanksgiving cards and chocolate turkeys?

And I thought Valentine's stuff the day after Christmas was bad... I haven't seen any signs of Easter up here, though... YET.

The back to school thing seems to happen earlier and earlier during the summer up here too... but then again, kids are starting in early-mid August now, instead of the first or second Tuesday in September (depending on when Labor Day falls) like back when I was in school. It's still kind of a buzzkill, though, to see back-to-back ads for July 4th and Back-to-School in late June!

it is a total buzz kill.
being all happy that you are on holidays (i have full time job now) then seeing back to school ads a long time before it is back to school time.

also, FYI, there is a lot of evidence that suggests that both Christmas and Easter are convenient dates adopted by the Christian faith from pagan festivals for the northern winter solstice and spring equinox/fertility respectively... it's all a sham folks.

Dollar General had Valentines merchandise in November and they already had some Easter merchandise a couple days before Christmas.
