I feel the need to rattle off some random trivia (off the top of my head) brought to mind by the previous posts or avatars of posters. You all may already know these bits of trivia. In reverse chronological order...
@poopylungstuffing- the ukulele translates to mean dancing flea.
@release_the_bats- Brian Wilson is a musical genius who once battled depression and agoraphobia.
@pensive- Sirius is the brightest true star visible in the northern hemisphere and is known as the dog star.
@Willard- Three periods (or dots) when used as punctuation is known as an ellipsis.

In Formula One racing, although two American citizens have been world champion, only one of them (the late Phil Hill) was actually born here.

The other was Mario Andretti, who is a native of Italy.

I used to do it; I don't so much anymore though.

Believe me, even when you're on topic, most really don't care to hear it.

I used to spout random facts too but lately I find it easier to just write it in a notebook or type it into lists. I like to make lists...even about the stupidest things...

Yep. I remember random tidbits from all over the place. I also like asking random questions to help me make connections between different, seemingly unrelated, but somehow related in my mind, things.

They're treasure chests of random facts. A good read when you're standing in a line, or on a quick bus/subway ride. Not very serious reading, though, and most of these facts are utterly useless.

to be fair, I've never actually read it, so I really can't say either way...but when are facts ever useless? If there's one thing I love reading up on, it's cultural history; entertainment history, basically.

Yes I do it quite a lot but most of my random facts tend to be about the topic being discussed at the time.

When I was fourteen the only way I could converse with people was to quote facts from the Guinness Book of World Records.

About that time (in the seventies) there was a sketch on Carol Burnett- she and a guy were matched on a computer dating service.

Both characters were baffled as what if anything they had in common-"so why did the cmputer match us?"

Then one of them threw out some fact "the tallest man in the world is eight feet eleven"... then the other spouted another Guiness fact... they ended up in each other's arms- two guiness geeks find true love! The way they acted it out was quite hilarious.

I don't like saying random facts unless it's somehow related to the topic of discussion, in which it's not as random.

I felt that if I were to toss out random facts out of nowhere, people would think I'm being a show-off.
