I get it, I just don't agree with it. :P Sure a guy who's been out working on his car or something and comes in and has that manly smell, yeah, that's hot. But not for long. Then it's "okay, you can shower now. Uhm. Please!"

umm. . . .well, the whole idea is to act on the arousal to the manly smell, and then both of you can take the shower afterwards (or even during! :D ) strike while the iron is hot. and resolve it all in the lather.

I think I just have different standards of hygiene than most people. After all, I started adult life as a gutter punk living in the wilderness. And then in south Texas . . .

Of course I follow common social standards in the work environment. Would you take a librarian seriously if she looked and smelled like she had been hiking all day and drinking beer by bonfires at night, and wore tattered clothes, and had visible home-made tattoos?

So this applies only to my non-professional (i.e. social) life.

I'm attracted to people like me - people who aren't preoccupied with what they look like and aren't afraid to get dirty. The smells of dirt and healthy sweat are good. The smells of perfume and hair products are unattractive. I can't help it - that's the way I am. And I like having a partner who lives the same way.

and goodness, again, this pheremone stimulation is not about hygiene, this is an intimate very sexual game between familiar consenting partners.

Magnus, if you like guys (boys in this case) who don't shower, then you'd LOVE me!

However, I don't wash my hair either: It has a thick layer of "permigrease"! :afro:

I know what you ladies are getting at...
a manly man doing manly things (chopping wood, fixing car, digging in dirt, building something) is hot HOT HOT! !

However, a pasty-faced un-shaven grease-ball who doesn't shower because he's too busy playing RPGs (see: my former roommate) is totally gross.

So it isn't body filth stench we're after, it's sweaty-strong-workin' man smell! (The man who will chop down wood and hunt down elk to feed the babies, from an evolutionary perspective.)

There is actually a reason for this, that is biological. They have found that genetic difference carries a pleasent scent for most women, the greater the genetic difference, the more pleasent the smell.

There was some science program with this on I saw awhile back. Very interesting.

Ooh..then I should introduce you to my partner Flakey.
He smells the worst right after he has taken his bi-weekly shower

He has a natural aversion to regular bathing, and i have the feeling that it suits him.
He also does not wear deordorant.

He does not smell bad..he smells....comfortable....but he also sorta falls into the pasty..lay in bed for half the day hypnotized by laptop category....but he does have some rugged qualities...like he knows how to sail a boat, and has been all over the world...and he's intelligent....
He likes video games and young adult fantasy fiction.

One of his ladyfriends recently cut his hair so it is not the total matted mess it was....but he still doesn't brush it.

Some females tend to like him.

I was reading an article that mentioned women who have taken The Pill for a long time have settled into a constant 'pregnant' attitude, and are more attracted to nurturing gentle type of men that a woman would want around during that time, and non Pill taking fertile women, forever jerked around by their hormones and pheremones like the virile dominant kind of man.
Until they get pregnant for real, then they want a nester. . .starting the cycle over when they are fertile again.

I thought it interesting.
