For animation buffs- 2D or 3D animation?

Which style of animation for animated feature films and/or shows do you prefer? With the release of the latest 2D animated film "Princess and the Frog" coming sometime sooner or later, I though this would be an appropriate question. Do you prefer two dimensional animation, or CGI?

Well, there are a few CGI films I like, but I prefer 2D animation.

CGI films are cool, but I still stick with the classic 2D traditional.

Princess and the Frog has been out since December of last year.

Two-dimensional without a doubt. That's what I grew up with. 3D is becoming too overused.

I'm not sure that I could indicate a preference for either, as it depends also on a lot of other factors. The principle of these being other production values especially story, what the production intends to achieve, its relationship to "live action" elements, and the over-all style -- for which the appropriateness of CGI and cell animation varies greatly.

I'm the first to vote 3-dimensional, huh? Well I'm not really sure why I picked it, but I guess I felt like that's the way to go now, especially with so many good 3-dimensional animated movies in the last decade.

I love 2D, but I'm learning 3D. I also don't mind hybrids like the second Ghost in the Shell movie.

I think I like both equally now, after seeing the new Garfield Show on Cartoon Network.

2D. The more exagerated facial expressions are easier to read for me, plus anime gives me the warm and fuzzies.

It's funny. I do computer based animation both in 2D and 3D for a living (or at least it's a part of my job) and the animation I enjoy most is raw, hand made stuff. The Quay Brothers, Jan Svankmajer (The great animator of meat) early Fleischer Brothers, Nick Park, Terry Gilliam etc.

I've always been a fan of 2D animation; it's what my childhood was made of. It makes me really sad that the majority of new kids' movies and cartoons are being done in 3D these days.

However, there are a couple of 3D shows/movies that I enjoy: Jimmy Neutron, Fanboy and Chum-Chum and the one that arguably started the trend - Toy Story.

I like 2D.
