Lately I've been flapping my hand LOL! Dad looks at me weird when I do it. It's fun to do!! !

Yes I have over the years. There are stims I have out grown and new ones I have developed.

Yeah, I started a hand jerk/flap after I got stoned but it stayed with me, and it turned into a nervous stim. It feels good.

Of course! I've developed a bunch of different ones, and some have sort of come and gone. One example: Rocking is probably one of my most obvious stims, but i didn't do it as a kid. It only started to be noticeable when i was a pre-teen, and even then it was only certain times and usually just at at home when i was on the computer or something. Then i did it more and more, and now i'll find myself even doing it in public quite often. I had some small stims when i was a kid, but none of them were nearly as obvious and continuous as they have been in the past few years. I mostly just blame the stress of "growing up," but they've just gotten worse.. Unless i did it when i was a kid without noticing as much as a do now, that's possible, i don't know. Not that it bothers me, though.. I like stimming.

I have; I went through a "squeaking" phase, luckily that was the only vocal tic I have ever had, and I rarely do it now. I actually only started rocking just before I found out I had Asperger's. I remember sitting in my dorm by myself, sitting at my desk working, then realizing that I had been rocking back and forth for the past few minutes. Needless to say, I was very confused .

I never really thought my stims were that strange, because there are NTs in my family who do a lot of stimmy movements. My mom rocks back and forth, my dad paces pretty often, and i notice that my grandmother sways back and forth when she's standing.

My brother stims. He rocks back and forth and sings or whistles to himself. However, my parents and I suspect he probably has Asperger's, because he's got a lot of other traits in addition to that.

My stim is running in circles with my music playing. I started doing that sometime between the ages of 9 and 11. I started walking around on my tip toes a few months ago. I do that when I'm very happy or excited.

My NT friends run around when they listen to music. Groups of them do it at concerts. They call it a circle pit.

Really? That's very interesting, because nobody, not even my doctors, have ever heard of anyone else who runs around with their music on like I do. Must be because I live in, y'know, Idaho, and we as a state are - shall I say - a bit behind the times.

Lately I've started "double-clicking" my right foot. It began sometime in the past year or two. It's a swift stomp, but it's a sharp "one-two" rhythm.

Yes. They change often. Before I was diagnosed with AS I started head banging on the wall behind my bed, or the wall behind the couch in the living room (depending on where I was of course). I didn't even know why I did it but it was certainly a new one...

A few times I have run around the house with music on..
and, you know, people go for runs and listen to iPods. I think music is just energizing, so it may not be common to run to it, but it's understandable. Maybe it's like dancing.

I run around while listening to music. I've done that since I was very little, I think. It's like my form of dancing.

I started flapping relatively recently. I develop new stims and stop old ones now and again. It just happens.

Yes. I drum on any surface that I can get my hands on, to whatever song is in my head.
