I can't exsplain it, Its weird today i was in the car with my girlfreind and her sister in the back of the car and i had the feeling of i was about to cry, My lower lip started to twitch and my eyes felt weird and i could only look at the floor and on the way to my my GF's house my dad kept saying that i kept wiping underneath my nose even though it was fine i didnt even realise i was doing it? :?

But i felt really uncomfortable in the car and i didnt want to suddenly break into tears while in the back of the car with my GF, I also found it really hard to speak or even look at the person i was talking to. It was horrible but its funny because when we got out of the car i felt fine, Either this is somthing that is to do with my AS or somthing is a mystery to me.

Please if you could offer any help as to what the hell happened to me today because it was embarassing and upsetting

I think we'd need more context if we're to be of any help o.O . Anything impotrant happenned to any of the people in the car recently? It "might" be a case of empathy, but it's a long-shot imo.

It's a bit of a mystery. If it happens again, and make note of any other information that might be relevant.

It reminds me of a similar possibly relevant experience when I was
8 years old and I had just met a large family who moved into a
nearby farm and I saw them in front of me in church and I started
crying with a complicated bunch of feelings...

-As if I just had made many nice friends after having none...
-As if I was welcomed by them and overwhelmingly grateful
-As if I was NOT really fully there socially but wanted to be
-As if I loved them emotionally for being my friends and saving
me from loneliness
-As if it was too good to last for me (self-fulfilling prophecy)(***)
-I wished I was one of them and more like them
-An overload of the emotion I call "Bittersweet" which is inspired at
will by the following sad songs:
------American Pie (Don McClean)
------Mr. Bojangles (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, or also Sammy Davis Jr)
------Piano Man (Billy Joel)
------Father and Son (Cat Stevens)
------Cat's in the Cradle (???) <=== Which lyric is About
a boy growing up with a loving but too busy father.
------The Cat Came Back (we sung on the first day I was at a
school for Autism, and have also recorded it on tape there then)
^^^Those songs do make me cry sometimes.

(***)By no means is this 1 bad aspect of the feeling intrinsic and
significant. There is no reason whatsoever to think that even
if we both felt this exact same emotion, it means the exact
same thing.

Possibly although the feeling is really was really intense today more than any other time i have exsperienced it? I just felt like i had to get away and have some of my own space y'know like a real enclosed boxed in feeling and yes i told myself just relax why are you acting like this? I tried to focus my attention on one thing and one thing only to maybe draw my attention away from all the feeling i was having at once. But i kept rubbing my top lip over and over again like i had an itchy nose my guess is that it was just a nervous stim as i notice i do this alot when near strange people. But for me to start crying in the back of the car and completely out of the blue would kinda freak everyone else out and probably just make my whole situatuation a whole lot worse. :(

Still i just hope it doesnt come on as intensely as it did today because that felt really awkward, As if a whole room of people you have never met before are staring at you and you can feel their gaze burning into you and you know you just have to escape as fast as you can thats a pretty good way of describing the feeling i had. :?

Social anxiety. I also find stress can bring out tick like mannerisms, and compulsive thoughts.

I sometimes (not as often anymore) have troubles with controlling my emotions. It's not that I'm thinking anything particulary sad, the feeling just sort off burst out.
I don't know how to explain it. Maybe it's the same?

Maybe a song on the radio triggered a sad memory?

Probably just sensory overload.

I get like that sometimes, but I think it's mostly because of all the dry air hitting my eyes.

A sad song well i doupt it although there was a song that i knew playing it has no link of sadness to it whatsoever :? Oh well i guess i'll just have to try and contain it and if it strikes again find out what may have triggered it?

Sometimes, you might feel fine one moment, but something so small might trigger some emotional pain that might cause tears, or in my case, a feeling of despair.
