I feel sorry for the people who don't like fireworks. Probably were denied the right to celebrate when they were kids. For me its all about the fireworks and the beer. Every time I see fireworks I wring my hands and shake my fingers.

Actually I was encouraged to watch fireworks and I got bored almost every time after I turned...idk probably between 10-12.

loud noises give me headaches. i was so fatigued from attending a relatives july 4th party, that i had to leave before the fireworks got into high gear, as i had gotten visibly jumpy everytime somebody fired off one, so i made a beeline home and found myself so sleepy that as soon as my head hit the pillow, i was out for the night. i felt sorry for the poor animals that had to put up with this noise, there was one doberman who kept hiding his head and ears between my legs, trying to find relief from the noise - and normally dogs stay away from me.

I'm not celebrating someone else's Independence Day. I shall be celebrating this, though:

There was one year where I didn't celebrate it because I was working and by the time I got off work, the firework show was over and there were very few people shooting off fireworks still. But the following year, I got to watch the show while my husband missed out on it because he had to work. But the following year we both got to buy fireworks and we went to my husband's old boss's house where he and his family had the barbecue. But this year we didn't have the money to buy any but we did go to my sister in laws for their cook out and they had fireworks they shot off and we are going to another one today which is my husband's old boss's house.
