Our galaxy is at the center of the creationist universe

Our galaxy (instead of being the earth) is at the center of the universe, christians who accept the Big Bang theory deny God, the enemies of God (big bang theory and copernican principle supporters) don't like the idea that we are in a special place in creation and that we are the most special creation.

Well, keep in mind the Bible was written from the perspective of the earth-bound observer unaware of the intricacies of celestial movement. If there is a geometric "center" to the universe, I'm not sure that such a center can be determined at this time. Whether that's us or not is a matter of pure speculation.

I mean, I'm a Christian creationist, but my conclusions about special creation are drawn from what the Bible says, not what it DOESN'T say. In comparison with careful astronomical study, a creationist should be careful about asserting things about which neither the creationist nor the naturalist knows. You can't accept astronomy AND creation without allowing for some flexibility in the interpretation of Genesis 1. We old-time creationists are too often guilty of not being flexible in reading scripture in such a way as to contradict known facts.

If the Earth is not the center of the solar system, and if the sun is not the center of the galaxy, what makes us think our galaxy is the center of the universe?

I suppose if evidence dictates that it IS, then who am I to argue? But on the other hand, the Bible does indicate that we ARE a "special creation," and SO FAR there has been NO evidence to show that there are any other places within this galaxy or others that would be hospitable for life--evolved or otherwise. It therefore remains that we ARE the center of God's attention in a vast cosmos, regardless of any multi-dimensional geometric orientation.

Ummm, It's well established in secular science that our galaxy appears to be the center of the universe because that is the only perspective we can get. It cannot be proven or disproven that we actually are at or near the center of the universe because we cannot travel the universe to check.

Also because, as far as we can tell, the universe does not have a meaningful geometric "center."

What??

I will never understand the mindset behind this sort of pseudoscience. Nor will I understand the mindset of those who claim I deny God because I pay attention to what we're learning about the universe through science. I also don't see how our "cosmographic" position in the universe lends any increase or decrease to our value in God's eyes. It doesn't matter where I am on Earth, as far as my value to God--and I see no reason why any other "location" issue should either.

You may end up back where you started, yes.

the analog to positively curved (and closed) spacetime manifold is the surface of a sphere. Start at any point, walk "straight ahead" and you will wind up where you started. Negatively curved space would be open infinite. No return trip.

i envy the bible-thumpers, their existence is so simple. the complexities of science are so simple. god wills this, god wills that. be a despicable piece of garbage but find jesus just before you die, and BE SAVED! if the vast majority of those who think they're going to heaven really do go......well....i'll opt for hell. if my companion animals don't go to heaven........"oh, they have no soul".........then i say f..k heaven, it's not a 'place' i want to be. bye everybody, won't see you soon !

Personally I think animals are quite likely to have souls...especially higher mammals.

so say we all: i've been in fraking withdrawal since the president died and starbuck disappeared. was curious if you knew of a bsg site somewhere in wp forums? my forums generally suck and average 1/2 reply so i am loathe to try to start another. do you know of groups/etc outside of wp? live long and prosper........no wait-that's wrong-----long live the 12 colonies.
